MARINE PRODUCTS // RADIO COMMUNICATION - INMARSAT-C/GPS RSS406A

The RSS406A integrates INMARSAT-C and GPS navigation functions into one system and conforms with INMARSAT GMDSS requirements (CN114) and IMO recommendations.
The RSS406A normally accesses the international telex network, the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and packet switched data network (PSDN), as well as private networks, and is used for telex, e-mail, fax (onshore reception only) and PC communication.
It can also send distress calls when an emergency occurs at sea and receives maritime safe W information (MSI) broadcasts (EGC messages) for specific group(s) of vessels in a particular ocean region.
Compact design
The RSS406A integrates an in-circuit C transmitted receiver, GPS receiver, and display into a function, compact, and easy-to-use unit, reducing the installation space and simplifying installation work.
Data(ship's position)Reporting and Polling
Data reports can be transmitted regularly, whenever desired, after power-up or just before a controlled power-down, or in response to a polling command from a share-based operation center.
Sending and Receiving of Data Messages
Messages can be sent and received between the RSS406A and any computer terminal connected to the PSDN or PSTN networks (if both the RSS406A and the computer terminal are registered with a service provider).
E-Mail
By using an e-mail service provider, you can exchange messages and files with subscribers to e-mail services worldwide, using Internet addresses.
GPS
The RSS406A integrates GPS as a standard function, and the Position bar on the screen displays current position information including latitude and longitude, course over ground, speed over ground and the UTC time and date. The GPS output format complies with NMEA0183 (GGA, VTC, GLL).
